Talks & Workshops

Performance talks and workshops that spark motivation and hand teams tools they can use on Monday morning.

Performance talks and workshops for teams and organisations: sessions built to spark motivation and hand over solutions people actually use, tailored to the brief (keynote, half-day workshop, or multi-month consultancy) with takeaways your audience can apply on Monday morning.

The short answer

What the talks and workshops are

Talks and workshops with The Athlete Approach are performance sessions for teams and organisations, built to spark motivation and hand over solutions people actually use, tailored to sharpen team dynamics, build resilience, or lift individual performance, with practical tools your audience can apply at once. The format scales from a 45-minute keynote to a half-day workshop to a multi-month consultancy engagement.

Every engagement starts with a 30 to 45-minute scoping call: who the audience is, the implicit problem, and what success would look like 12 weeks after the session, because bespoke material moves the dial where off-the-shelf decks rarely do. The material is then built from coaching senior executives and elite athletes: frameworks for managing recovery under load, decision-making under fatigue, and training resilience as a learnable skill, with examples that are anonymised but real.

Delivery is interactive: questions are encouraged throughout, and audiences apply the frameworks to their own contexts rather than just observe. A standalone keynote hands over the frameworks, while a multi-month consultancy engagement adds follow-up sessions, implementation reviews with named individuals, and a written report summarising what changed. Frameworks adapt across finance, professional services, and sports organisations, so the content lands whether the room is a boardroom or an academy hall.

What the talks and workshops include

Bespoke performance sessions, scoped to your audience and built from real coaching.

A scoping call first

Every engagement starts with a thirty to forty-five minute scoping call, so the material matches the audience and the problem.

Frameworks that transfer

Recovery under load, decisions under fatigue and resilience as a learnable skill, drawn from coaching senior executives and elite athletes.

Built from your own context

Material is built from your context with anonymised but real examples, because a generic deck rarely moves the dial.

Keynote to consultancy

Formats scale from a forty-five minute keynote to a half-day workshop to a multi-month consultancy engagement.

Interactive delivery

Questions are encouraged throughout and audiences apply the frameworks to their own context, rather than just observing.

Implementation support

Longer engagements add follow-up sessions, named accountability, and a written report on what actually changed.

How an engagement
works

Bespoke beats off-the-shelf every time. An engagement starts by scoping the audience and the problem, builds material from real coaching, and delivers it interactively, with follow-up where the goal is lasting change.

FAQs

What topics do you cover?

Performance under load, recovery as a discipline, training resilience as a learnable skill, decision-making under fatigue, longevity-aware training, and the intersection of physical performance and mental performance. Material is bespoke to the audience: a finance leadership team and a sports academy get different decks even if the underlying frameworks overlap.

Who is the audience for these sessions?

Common audiences include leadership teams in financial services and professional services, founders and senior executives, sports organisation staff (coaching teams, performance directors), school leadership teams, and sports parent groups. The frameworks transfer across all of these audiences with the examples and the emphasis adjusted, so the content lands whether the room is a boardroom or an academy hall.

What is the difference between a keynote and a workshop?

A keynote (45–60 min) introduces frameworks and ignites motivation. A half-day workshop (3–4 hrs) adds practical components: audience members apply the frameworks to their own contexts during the session, and leave with a written takeaway sheet. Workshops change behaviour more reliably than keynotes; choose based on whether you need awareness or action.

Do you travel for engagements?

Yes: within the UK as standard, and internationally for engagements booked with sufficient notice. Travel and accommodation costs are quoted separately from the engagement fee so the pricing stays transparent. Virtual delivery (Zoom or Teams) is also available for keynotes and shorter workshops where in-person delivery is not practical or the timeline is tight.

How do consultancy engagements differ from a one-off workshop?

A one-off workshop changes language and frameworks but rarely changes behaviour. A multi-month consultancy engagement adds follow-up sessions, named accountability, and a measurement layer: what specific changes were made, what specific outcomes changed. Use consultancy when the goal is sustained team-level behaviour change rather than awareness building.

Can content be tailored for sports organisations specifically?

Yes: engagements with academy directors, coaching teams, sports parents, and sports-school staff are common. Material draws on direct experience working within Premier League and NFL organisations and aligns with current S&C and sports-science best practice rather than recycling motivational tropes.
